These are a taller, utilitarian version of the famous spatterdasher, reaching just below the knee, and cover the top of the shoe or boot. What makes these truly unique is the set-in tongue that covers the top of the foot, creating a well-fitting gaiter. Wear them as a substitute for a knee boot, or to keep your boots clean. Either way, you're sure to look the part. Made from heavy cotton duck canvas with a light canvas trim, leather insole strap with buckle, and button closures. Based on a Victorian gaiter pattern, they can be made in 3 heights. Measure for your size by:
1. Calf Size: While standing, measure around the fullest part of your calf OVER the trousers you are wearing under them. Thick fabrics can add a lot of width to the leg. Use this measurement to order your gaiter size. If measurement is a half size, the smaller whole size should be ordered.
2. Height: While sitting down, measure from the inside of your leg; the ankle bone to just under your knee. Short= 10 1/2"- 12", average= 12 1/2"-14", tall= 14 1/2" and up
